Some businesses or groups may find this of interest
We’re happy to work with existing enterprises, looking to develop, too. So long as you have a business idea that would likely form part of a new resilient and sustainable local economy of the Upper Calder Valley, this is for you.
You could be one of four local social enterprises who will get the chance to pitch for 4 minutes to your “Community of Dragons” – 120 local people who are keen to learn about what you are doing and support you in a variety of ways. We are currently working with local entrepreneurs and enterprises to select the four lucky pitchers. We also intend to share some of the door money (after expenses) with the successful pitchers.
Support could include, but is not limited to, money, people to get involved, resources, land, feedback, business support, mentoring, or you might just want the opportunity to promote and test your idea with a supportive audience.
For an example of what pitching to this type of event is like, take a look at the video of Rob Hopkins (who is coming to Bootstrap) talking about when he pitched for the New Lion Brewery in Totnes, Devon at their Local Entrepreneur Forum https://youtu.be/ciOilJyjRPY
Calderdale Bootstrap is a two-part afternoon and evening event – a celebration, networking and learning experience around the current and future Solidarity Economy of Calderdale and beyond.
The “Community of Dragons” session is the grand finale of the wider Calderdale Bootstrap 2017 event.

If you’d like to discuss your involvement please just register you interest and we’ll take it from there. There is no obligation at this stage.
We look forward to seeing you there!
